Don’t miss Nagata Shachu’s season’s finale concert featuring a collaboration with Haneum. Haneum is a band formed in 2017 by members of The Korean Traditional Music Association of Canada. Composed of musicians who studied traditional Korean music, and western jazz, Haneum aims to create and perform music that reflects the identity of its Korean-Canadian musicians. Haneum is Korean for “One Sound”, “Korean Sound” or the “Tone of the Soul”. Joining Haneum and also performing solo is Korean drummer/percussionist Eunji Kim (Kklily). Kklily is a graduate of the Korean National University of Arts majoring in percussion and traditional arts. In 2017 she won the Grand Prize in the Gang Gam-chan Festival National High Court Pansori Contest. Kklily has performed in Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Mongolia, France and Germany. Since moving to Canada in 2022, she has performed at various festivals and events throughout Toronto and is an artist and teacher of The Korean Dance Studies Society of Canada.
