| In the Shinto faith, a deity or kami exists within all aspects of nature. It is also believed that kami resides within the taiko and that it is the drummers' duty to beat the drum with all his heart, mind and body to unleash this spirit. In this piece, two drummers encourage one another to play the O-hirado daiko freely, purely yet powerfully, to become one with the taiko and to coax the kami into the human world. | |
